Pregnancy is a powerful and fleeting season. Your body is changing. Your family is growing. There is anticipation, emotion, and quiet excitement woven into everyday moments.
Maternity photography is about preserving this chapter before everything shifts again.
As a Louisville maternity photographer, I believe these sessions should feel calm, beautiful, and effortless. This is not about stiff posing or dramatic production. It is about honoring this season in a way that feels natural and timeless.

The ideal time for maternity photography is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy so it is important that you reserve your spot early.
During this window, your belly is beautifully round and defined, but you are still comfortable enough to move and pose with ease. Waiting too long can mean you feel more fatigued, and booking too late may limit availability.
Many of my Louisville maternity clients book during their second trimester so we can secure their date and have plenty of time to plan wardrobe, styling, and the overall vision for their session.

Some mothers envision soft, studio portraits with clean, neutral tones. Others prefer natural, lifestyle-inspired images either outdoors or in their home.
Both options are beautiful. The right choice depends on your vision and how you want this season remembered.
Studio sessions offer a timeless, refined look that keeps the focus on you and your growing baby. Lifestyle sessions allow for more movement and connection, especially if siblings are involved.
During our planning conversation, we will talk through what feels most authentic to you and your family.

Wardrobe plays a big role in creating images that feel cohesive and flattering.
Soft textures, neutral tones, and flowing fabrics tend to photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel like yourself. Every family who books receives a complimentary wardrobe and styling appointment where we can go through everything together and try on pieces from my curated client wardrobe. Most families find this takes the guesswork out of planning and makes the entire process feel simple and stress-free.
As a Louisville maternity photographer, my goal is for every mother to feel confident, comfortable, and completely like herself during her session.
This is a season of strength and softness, and your wardrobe should reflect that.

It is easy to think, “I’ll just wait for newborn photos.” But maternity portraits are the beginning of your baby’s story.
One day, your child will look at these images and see how loved they were before they even arrived.
Maternity photography gives you a chance to pause. To honor what your body is doing. To celebrate this transition into motherhood or the growth of your family.
And practically speaking, maternity sessions are often the first step toward planning your newborn session. Many of my maternity clients reserve their newborn date at the same time so everything feels seamless once baby arrives.

If you are considering newborn photography, maternity is the perfect time to begin that conversation.
Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first two to three weeks after birth, and availability fills quickly. By booking early, you can rest knowing that your baby’s first portraits are already planned.
My goal is to create a cohesive experience from pregnancy through your baby’s first year and beyond.

Your maternity portraits deserve more than a spot on your phone.
After your session, we will meet for a custom design and ordering appointment where you will see your images and choose how to display them in your home. Many families select framed fine art prints, custom gallery walls, or heirloom albums designed specifically for their space.
These are not just digital files. They become heirloom pieces that tell the story of your growing family.

If you are searching for a Louisville maternity photographer who offers a relaxed, guided, and full-service experience, I would love to connect with you.
The best time to book is early into your second trimester so we can secure your date and begin planning the details together.
